Holiday Baking with Kids - Hands On Class with Rachel Knecht

Create special holiday memories with your preschooler in this hands-on cooking class. Your little elf will love pouring, stirring and sprinkling as we make jam thumbprint cookies, chocolate dipped pretzels and a hot cocoa mix ready for the giving. Ages 3-5, ticket includes one child and one adult.

Ticket price $85 (includes one child + one adult)

About Rachel:

My love of baking began as a child at my mother’s side. Now with children of my own, I find it so rewarding to show another generation the magic of mixing individual ingredients together to make delicious food from scratch. Currently, I teach children’s cooking classes as well as work as a recipe tester and kitchen assistant. I also write, develop and photograph the content for bakingwithrachel.com.

Join us at the shop for an evening of good food & conversation. Cook or bake a recipe from Let’s Stay In and bring it ready to feast on and share!

The ticket price includes beverages and clean up.

Spoon Carving Workshop with Spalted Home

Learn the skills of how to carve a spice spoon with Jessica Angel of Spalted Home!

In this 3 hour class we will learn about different types of wood, safe ways to carve, design, final shaping, finishing and after care.

All materials will be provided for the class including instructions, a wood carving knife to take home, wood for carving and sand paper.

Our signature salted chocolate chip cookies, an assortment of cheeses, coffee and tea will be served.

Soft Cheesemaking Class with Branch Oak Farm Creamery

Join skilled cheesemaker Katie Justman of Branch Oak Farm Creamery (Raymond, Nebraska) in the shop for an evening of soft cheesemaking. Branch Oak Creamery’s cheeses are made with sustainable, certified organic methods, and with a positive impact on the environment.

In the first half of the class we will learn to make fresh mozarella, ricotta and marscapone, discuss milk sourcing, equipment and cheese cultures so you can reproduce all what you learn easily in your own home.

In the second half of the class we will go over seasonal cheese plating ideas and sit down to enjoy our creations. There with be an assortment of artisan breads, beverage pairing and decadent Roman-style tiramisu!
