Soft Cheesemaking Class with Branch Oak Farm Creamery

Join skilled cheesemaker Katie Justman of Branch Oak Farm Creamery (Raymond, Nebraska) in the shop for an evening of soft cheesemaking. Branch Oak Creamery’s cheeses are made with sustainable, certified organic methods, and with a positive impact on the environment.

In the first half of the class we will learn to make fresh mozarella, ricotta and marscapone, discuss milk sourcing, equipment and cheese cultures so you can reproduce all what you learn easily in your own home.

In the second half of the class we will go over seasonal cheese plating ideas and sit down to enjoy our creations. There with be an assortment of artisan breads, beverage pairing and decadent Roman-style tiramisu!

Spoon Carving Workshop with Spalted Home

Learn the skills of how to carve a spice spoon with Jessica Angel of Spalted Home!

In this 3 hour class we will learn about different types of wood, safe ways to carve, design, final shaping, finishing and after care.

All materials will be provided for the class including instructions, a wood carving knife to take home, wood for carving and sand paper.

Our signature salted chocolate chip cookies, an assortment of cheeses, coffee and tea will be served.

Botanical Hand Embroidery Workshop with MCreativeJ

Spend your morning learning a modern take on a vintage craft with hand embroidery artist Melissa Johnson of MCreativeJ. In this 3 hour, hands-on class you’ll learn the basics of hand embroidery and stitch your own Zebra Hawthoria plant on bright pink pattern fabric. No embroidery experience is required and all skill levels are welcome in this class.

The cost is $85 and the class is limited to 12 students.

Mexican Bakery Workshop

Fresh baked breads from the local panaderia or bakery are a staple at every Mexican table.  Come join Not Without Salt Shop as we host Mariela Camacho from Comadre Panaderia at the shop. 

In this 3 hour workshop we will be making:

Piña Empanada, a flakey dough filled with Mexican vanilla tossed pineapple, spiked with rum and dusted in star-anise sugar.

Breakfast Empanada, a tender pastry stuffed with nopal (cactus), melty queso (cheese) Oaxaca, and soft scrambled eggs.

Concha, a brioche dough with a cookie like red berry, vanilla, and chocolate topping.

Freshly brewed Coffee and tea by Big Heart Tea Co. will be served while you feast on or take home your baked goodies!

Delicately Sweet Confections Workshop: Decorating Cookies

Decorating Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing - Monday, August 13 - 10:00-1:00
Location: Not Without Salt Shop
In this workshop, you will learn how to make royal icing and decorate sugar cookies using the 'flooding' method to get those beautiful smooth designs. You will get to take home a dozen of your beautiful creations and a packet full of our tips and recipes.   $85

SKILL LEVEL: Beginner to Intermediate. You do not need any prior experience in cake decorating. We have purposely limited the number os tickets so there will be plenty of hands on time to create. The workshop is perfect for your first time dabbling in buttercream or for bakers who want to take their cake skills to the next level.

FOOD & DRINK: Water and light refreshments from DSC will be served throughout the workshops.

TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT: send an email to orders@delicatelysweetconfections.com and put "Buttercream Cookie Workshop" or "Royal Icing Cookie Workshop in the subject line. Be sure to include the number of tickets you'd like to purchase. We will then send you an invoice. Your seat will be confirmed once payment is received. 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: All tools and materials needed will be provided and will remain property of DSC. Boxes for taking your creation home will be provided. Students must be at least 13 years of age.  Please wear comfortable shoes and be able to tie your hair back.
