Social Creative Workshop: Embracing the Season

HONORING SUMMER

Catered to the beginner or skilled at home cook interested in expanding their understanding of our relationship with food, and how to elevate their everyday cooking experience by making the most out of the season.

Ashley Rodriguez shows easy tutorial/technique/ ideas for elevating and savoring every moment of summer cooking.

The workshop will celebrate and emphasize cooking through farmer's market produce, picnic preparation, and backyard bonfires.

Expect cooking tips, hands on learning, and plenty of mouth watering tastings. Guests watch demonstration for exclusive recipe and taste throughout the process.  

Check in, mingle with small bites, sweets and beverages. Class is a 1.5 hour session of teaching and hands-on learning, followed by additional 30 minutes of q & a and photography. (And probably more bubbly!)

In order to maximize individual learning time, we are keeping workshop to boutique size.

Mexican Bakery Workshop

Fresh baked breads from the local panaderia or bakery are a staple at every Mexican table.  Come join Not Without Salt Shop as we host Mariela Camacho from Comadre Panaderia at the shop.  

In this 3 hour workshop we will be making;

Piña Empanada: A flakey dough filled with Mexican vanilla tossed pineapple, spiked with rum and dusted in star-anise sugar.

Breakfast Empanada: A tender pastry stuffed with nopal (cactus), melty queso (cheese) Oaxaca, and soft scrambled eggs.

Concha: Brioche dough with a cookie like red berry, vanilla, and chocolate topping.

Freshly brewed Baron Brothers Coffee and tea by Big Heart Tea Co. will be served while you feast on or take home your baked goodies!

Proceeds from the workshop will be donated to Mision Mexico.  Mision Mexico proves a safe and loving home and healing through surf and arts to impoverished children who are victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment.

AUTHOR EVENT: Summer Campout Dinner with The Campout Cookbook

We are thrilled to welcome Marnie Hanel and Jen Stevenson, authors of The Campout Cookbook to the shop. I'll be preparing recipes around the campfire inspired by the book. We'll share campfire stories while enjoying elevated camp fare.
